ZTE Corporation made a strong showing at the GSMA M360 ASEAN 2026 event in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, highlighting its role in driving AI-based digital transformation across the ASEAN region. The company emphasized solutions aimed at supporting a resilient and inclusive future in the AI era.
Building Digital Trust Through Key Pillars
James Zhang, Senior Vice President at ZTE, delivered a keynote speech titled “Scaling the Summit of AI: Building Digital Trust for a Resilient ASEAN in the AI Era.” Zhang stressed that trust is essential for AI adoption and outlined four critical pillars: Sovereign AI, Security, Affordability, and Sustainability.
He also highlighted challenges such as rising energy and computing costs, an energy-efficiency gap in AI, and the growing “AI divide.” Zhang called for collaboration between policymakers and industry leaders to address these issues, advocating for infrastructure sharing and advanced solutions like ZTE’s SuperPOD high-density computing.
AI-Driven Healthcare and Network Transformation
Hans Neff, Senior Director of CTO Group and Deputy CTO Europe and Americas at ZTE, discussed the future of healthcare in his speech, “Building the AI-Ready Digital Health Infrastructure.” He emphasized that the goal is to bring healthcare capabilities to patients, not the other way around, through the integration of connectivity, computing, trusted data, and AI.

ZTE also hosted two congresses alongside M360 ASEAN 2026. The Global Intelligent Computing Ecosystem Congress focused on the co-evolution of intelligent computing infrastructure and AI models. Participants discussed topics like computing evolution in the era of large models and the next-generation cloud infrastructure.
5G+AI Opportunities for ASEAN’s Digital Vision
The ZTE Wireless User Congress explored 5G+AI opportunities in support of the ASEAN “2045 Community Vision.” The event showcased the AIR MAX three-layer systematic upgrade architecture, which aims to optimize mobile networks for the 6G+AI era. Through case studies, ZTE demonstrated how AI-driven enhancements can improve both network performance and commercial returns.
Looking ahead, ZTE plans to advance its “Connectivity + Computing” strategy, leveraging AI to deepen technological innovation and ecosystem cooperation. The company aims to bring digital intelligence to all industries, aligning with its vision of “enabling communication and trust everywhere.”
