Summer scents of sea and citrus

When it comes to summer, people tend to choose lighter, marine, and citrus-based perfumes that are emotional, energizing, and tonic, with elegant and never overpowering trails. The rules of perfume etiquette are simple: it shouldn’t precede or follow the person wearing it, nor should it envelop the surroundings.

The space of a well-educated fragrance is about the length of an outstretched arm. Two spritzes, one on the wrist and one on the neck, are enough. And in the summer, it’s essential to remember not to wear perfume before sun exposure, as it can cause spots and skin irritations.

Several perfumes evoke the sea, woods, and vacation flavors. Naxos by Xerjoff is a patriotic perfume that represents Italian style and elegance, paying homage to Sicily with notes of lemon, lavender, and bergamot, as well as cinnamon, honey, vanilla, tonka, and tobacco leaves.

Creed, a British perfume brand founded in 1760 and supplier of fragrances to the Royal Family, offers Pure White Cologne, a fresh and explosive scent with notes of lemon, grapefruit, and bergamot, sweetened by pear and petigrain, with a contribution of musk, amber, and rice powder. They have a long history of creating high-quality fragrances.

Cedre du Liban is a tenacious yet educated perfume that combines cedar, verbena, pink pepper, and vetiver accents. It’s part of the Eaux Triples collection, created by Officine Universelle Buly 1803, a niche brand that offers unique fragrances.

North Sails, the world’s largest regatta sail manufacturer, presents its first fragrance, Ocean, which captures the energy of the sea and the anarchy of the wind. Created in partnership with Mavive and signed by perfumer Alessandro Olmo, it’s a woody, marine faugère that opens with lemon, grapefruit, and cardamom, blended with sage, geranium, and lavender.

Venetian blue by The Merchant of Venice is a modern faugère with a musky base and a smoky nuance, featuring patchouli and birch, along with lemon, bergamot, and an unexpected contribution of pineapple and apple. The combination of these notes creates a unique scent.

L’Art et La Matière Herbes Troublantes by Guerlain is a blend of orange blossoms and leaves of thyme, mint, and rosemary, freshly picked. If it were a movie, it would be A Sunday in the Country by Bernard Tavernier. Guerlain’s creation is a masterpiece of perfumery.

Quercia, a new eau de parfum from the I Giardini Medicei collection by Officina Profumo Santa Maria Novella, explores the plant’s essence through woody notes, added with lavender, vetiver, and patchouli. This collection is known for its high-quality fragrances.

La Caletta is a new summer collection imagined by interior designer Laura Gonzalez for Acqua di Parma. The line features Bergamotto La Spugnatura, an eau de parfum with the vitality of Calabrian citrus, whose essence is manually extracted from the peel. The result is a fresh and invigorating scent.

Tommy Poolside, the new limited edition by Tommy Hilfiger, is a fragrance that embodies the freshness of a summer day by the pool, on a boat, or at the beach, with mandarin, lemon, and pink pepper at its core. It’s perfect for summer activities.

Cédrat de Diamante by Atelier Versace is an eau de parfum that captures the essence of the Mediterranean in a bottle, with a radiant and regal scent featuring the energy of Italian lemon zest, pink grapefruit, and the sensuality of cedar and vetiver woods. The fragrance is a sign to Versace’s expertise in perfumery, which is now part of their growth trajectory.
